Publications since last newsletter:
Kaplan, H.B. and Lynda Plamann. Cell-density sensing during early
development in Myxococcus xanthus. In G.M. Dunney and S.C. Winans (ed.),
Cell-Cell Communication in Bacteria. ASM Press, Washington D.C. (in press).
Personnel in the Plamann lab:
John Davis (at TAMU) and Laura Tatar; graduate students
Jeanita Ives and Lindsay Green; research assistants/associates
Lab news:
Congratulations to Valerie Kessler Dunmire! She received her M.S. Degree,
married Jason Dunmire, and moved to Atlanta, GA in December. Valerie now
works at the CDC in Atlanta.
The Plamann lab moved to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School
of
Biological Sciences. The Kansas City area is a nice place to live, and we
have lots of great colleagues who are involved in molecular biology
research at UMKC.
Current Interests:
We have a number of asgA pseudorevertants with very interesting
phenotypes. We will be characterizing the pseudorevertants and then going
after some of the genes. Genetics is leading the way!
